What We're Doing To Connect With The Community...
We have been in in contact with Jenny Bicknell who is the Sustainability Education Officer at the City of Boroondara. She talked to us about our rubbish and how we can recycle more, so less rubbish goes into landfill. We already recycle lots of paper and cardboard but after talking to Jenny, we decided to get two new wheely bins so we can recycle all our bottles and cans too. These bins will go onto the footpath once a week just like your bins at home. What a great idea!!!

Hartwell Earth Hour
On March 27, 2009 from 2-3 in the afternoon, the children and staff at Hartwell had their own Earth Hour. We did this to draw attention to the official Earth Hour that was to happen on March 28th. All lights and non-essential electrical items were turned off and the children worked very happily in classrooms lit by sunlight. It was a fantastic effort and goes to show that we can all make a difference!
